I really enjoyed the golf course. I would come back every week to test and improve myself with all the shot making you are required to hit. My friends and I had a blast and were treated like members. I would highly recommend Bull Valley golf Club.

This course is a bear, but fair. Don't dare venture to the back tees, the "tip of the horn" unless you are close to scratch. Four 10 handicappers shot between 82 - 90 from the whites, which are two steps up from the tips.

It was all I could handle. It's a real gem!

One of the top 3 most difficult courses in Illinois, I don't know why it plays so difficult. Seems like you should be able to score better here. Maybe that's what keeps people trying to best the course.

Played this course in a special deal offered by my golf association for $90. Having played private country clubs before, I was expecting ultra-tight tees and fairways as well as greens that looked and rolled like glass. Unfortunately, what I found was shaggy tees and fairways (unacceptably even for a $35 public course) and greens that I would rank in the bottom 5 that I've ever played. In addition to being incredibly slow, the greens were in horrible shape with unrepaired ball marks, disease or frost kill, and outright bare patches. Only one hole (par 3, #5) had the pin in a location where you didn't have to putt through the dead, dieing or non-existent grass. On a positive note, the staff was exceptionally nice and the facilities looked very nice as well from what I saw of them. The driving range, albeit small, was in perfectly nice shape. The putting, chipping and sand practice area left a little to be desired, however only the sand practice area was not passable. Overall, I could not recommend this course and feel my $90 would have been much better spent at a number of public courses such as Stonewall Orchard or Thunderhawk or Blackstone and Oak Grove in the relative area which would have been better golf for less money.
